Working Toward a Better Tomorrow

Our Story

The new Sanford High School & Regional Technical Center construction project presented Sanford and York County with a unique opportunity to enhance the quality of life for the communities it serves. We presented the challenge to our community, and they answered!

Sanford Schools Legacy Foundation emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, where actions to speak louder than words. We are an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support. Now we are turning our attention to funding and supporting special projects in all Sanford schools. Contact us to learn more and get involved.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to enhance the experience of students in Sanford schools and Regional Technical Center by expanding opportunities beyond those provided through public funding.

What is the Legacy Foundation? The Sanford Schools Legacy Foundation, a 501(C)3 organization, was created to allow individuals and corporations to provide financial and in-kind support to Sanford schools.

Why is the Legacy Foundation needed? Construction of our new high school, technical center, performing arts center, and athletic facilities presented Sanford with the rare opportunity to provide an unparalleled educational experience for the Sanford community in York County. Now the work continues across all Sanford schools.

Public funding for this project was considerable; however, portions of the project needed private funding to support infrastructure and equipment. The state did not cover all costs associated with a new school. The foundation sought corporate and private partners to provide Stanford with the best educational facility possible. With your help, we are making it happen.

With whom is the Legacy Foundation working? The Legacy Foundation is collaborating with the Sanford Red and White Foundation, Sanford High School Music Boosters and Sanford Alumni Association. Our work impacts every sector in our community.
